This plugin lets you add patterns to your region. When you open up the menu there are three options: Change X, Change Y and Change Z. You can toggle these on and off in whatever order you like to create the best pattern for your liking! Once you press 'RUN' it will let you select two different blocks (These are the two blocks the pattern will alternate between) using the setblock trick or you can select air or the previous block you used. It can take a bit of playing around to understand how it works but to give you an idea, if you had all on every single block would alternate and if you just had change y you would have layers of blocks.
